Gardiner Grain is a well-established, agri merchant and supplier for the South East region.

Gardiner Grain is a family business which was founded in 1962 by Joe and Margaret Gardiner. From humble beginnings as a general green grocers and pub, Gardiner Grain has flourished into one of the leading agri merchants and suppliers in the South East.

50 years on, the company has continued to grow and progress, seeing a third generation of the family entering the business. Employing over 20 people across four locations in Coolgreany, Gorey, Carnew and Avoca, we pride ourselves on being immersed in our local communities and tailor our range of products and services to meet the needs of our valued customers.

Our Services

Our core business is agri-trading, providing our customers with a wide range of farm inputs including grain, agrochemicals, fertiliser, animal feeds as well as essential farm supplies.

We have been producing our own range of premium course ration since 2010 under the Avoca Milling brand name. Our agronomist, Kevin Gardiner works closely with tillage farmers to ensure that the wheat, barley and oats that are used in our range of feeds is produced to the highest standard. A huge emphasis is also placed on selecting only the best sources of protein, energy and fibre to complement all our locally grown cereal.

To cater for pet owners and small holdings, we also retail our own range of small animal feed under the “Mad About” brand name. This extensive product range spans everything from dog food to garden fertiliser and wild bird care.

Within our retail branches, we sell a range of items for farm and home including pet supplies, fuel, hardware and gardening supplies as well as clothing and footwear.

Accreditation

Maintaining the highest possible standards across all areas is key to our business. Gardiner Grain is a proud member of the Acorn Group which is a collection of long-established independent family run merchants from around Ireland. The main goal of the group is to enable members to provide their customers with the very best quality farm inputs at the most competitive prices possible.

Gardiner Grain is certified by the Department of Agriculture, Universal Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) which is a vital driver of our quality control and feed assurance policies into the future. We are also members of Irish Grain Assurance Scheme (IGAS), which involves maintaining defined standards of grain growing, grain handling and grain storage. Obtaining this recognition and accreditation provides reassurance to the farmer that they are purchasing products that are fully traceable and of the highest quality and standard.
